Mobile broadband
Mobile broadband works via a small, simple mobile USB modem allowing you to gain internet access anywhere, through either a laptop or desktop computer. You can get broadband wherever there is mobile phone reception so broadband is no longer restricted to your home or office - access the internet and email on the move, wherever, whenever you want.
What is mobile broadband?
To take the basics first, HSDPA stands for High-Speed Downlink Packet Access, although it's probably easier to think of it as 'mobile broadband' or '3.5G'. In short, it's an upgrade to the phone operators' 3G networks that gives you more bandwidth, making it faster to get access to the internet on the move.
All the major phone companies provide the service and the price depends on who you are with for your phone contracts. The USB modem ranges in price from FREE to £90 to buy and you then pay a set monthly fee of around £15 for the service.
Before you rush out and sign up it is worth checking on the provider sites what coverage they have in your area of usage as this runs on an advanced 3G network so in some areas coverage is limited!
