How does Vital-Guard work?
This fully managed service provides a solution for the rapid back-up and restoration of your business systems following a major disaster. Whether you need to recover a single lost file or your entire server room needs re-building, our fail-safe system ensures your business can be fully functioning within 4 hours, rather than days.
We install a Management Console Server at your business site that oversees the Vital-Guard Software function on each of the servers that has it installed. The software enables us to take a “snapshot” of the exact configuration of each server, typically every night, and that image is then stored using our co-located Online Off-site Back-Up facility. The initial back-up will be a complete process, followed by daily incremental back-ups of any changes and additions. Set-up is very simple. The backups are fully customizable and can be scheduled to run at a time convenient to your business. Every backup is fully managed and alerts are monitored daily, enabling our Helpdesk Team to support your systems proactively, identifying and rectifying any issues quickly and efficiently.
 We use dedicated, “co-located” servers that ensure the safety of your data at all times. We “co-locate”, in other words we hold your data in two separate data-centre environments in order to double-protect the content, therefore guaranteeing the security of your most precious commodity.
Our service uses military grade 56 character/448 bit encryption to protect the data before it leaves your system and it stays encrypted whilst stored. Your data is only decrypted when it arrives back to your system following a managed restore, therefore maintaining the highest levels of security throughout the cycle.
With the Vital-Guard server snapshot, if you experience a disaster such as complete server failure, we can restore the snapshot directly onto a loan server to replicate your server and network configurations. We can then use your standard data backup to restore your systems back to their most recent version. If you have multiple servers, with the help of our virtualisation solution, we can provide a single server to host all of your servers on a temporary basis until we can arrange for your damaged servers to be successfully restored or replaced.
